It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael McCaslin, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on May 1, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on February 10, 1941, in Houston, Texas, Michael was the cherished son of Louis Herbert and Iris McCaslin.
A man of faith and integrity, Michael lived a life dedicated to serving others. He worked in the pest control industry, where he made countless friends and touched many lives with his unwavering kindness. A proud Navy veteran, Michael exemplified the spirit of duty and commitment that is often found in those who serve.
Michael's passions extended beyond his profession. He was a talented carpenter, a devoted beekeeper, and an enthusiastic Sunday school teacher, sharing his love of God with the community. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he was known for his gentle spirit and his love for Jesus Christ. He deeply valued his family and cherished the time spent with each of them.In addition to his commitment to family, Michael found great joy in playing golf, where he nurtured friendships over rounds on the green. He was a man who embraced life fully, and his laughter, warmth, and compassion left a lasting mark on those privileged to know him.
Michael was preceded in death by both of his parents and beloved wife, Virginia C. McCaslin. He is survived by his loving daughters, Carol Costlow (Steve) and Jennifer McCaslin; grandchildren, Elizabeth Reynolds (Bradley), Rebecca Reynolds, Victoria Wheeler (Ryan), Michael Reynolds, Melissa Taylor (Talon), and Matthew Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Michael Ronan Taylor, Teagan Wren Taylor, and Rowan Elizabeth Reynolds Willis; and loving sister, Gayle Gilbert (Bill), as well as a host of extended family and special friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
A graveside service will be held in honor of Michael McCaslin at Centerville Cemetery on May 9, 2026, at 1 PM. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
In remembrance of Michael, let us carry forward his spirit of kindness and dedication to family and faith. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
