On December 7, 1948, a beautiful baby girl was born in Leona, Texas, to Willie and Ollie Mae Polk.
Her name was Myrtle Lee Polk. She received her education in Centerville, Texas. She furthered her education at Prairie View A&M University. Myrtle moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where she was employed by the state school. She was a member of the Golden Girls Social Club. In 1995, Myrtle moved back to Leona, Texas, where she joined Two-Mile United Methodist Church and was a faithful member until her health began to fail.
On March 28, 2026, the Lord called his angel Myrtle Lee Polk home. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Willie and Ollie Mae Polk; sisters, Elois King, Gladys Fitz, Willie Mae Nealy, Faye Lois Polk, Bernice Pickett, Evelyn Jones, and Ruth Haywood; and brothers, Bennie Polk, Donnie Polk, Ollie Polk, Willie Polk, Jr., James Polk, Sr., and Albert Polk.
She leaves to cherish her memory children, Tracy Jackson (Sonja) and Chaverne Jackson; sister, Rodest Robinson; brothers, General Douglas Polk, Charles Polk, Sr. (Annie), and Samuel Polk; sisters-in-law, Norma Jean Polk and Mae Lou Polk; brother-in-law, Edker Nealy; sister-in-law, Effie Polk; grandchildren, Devodrick, Gladnaja, Chelsea, Shanirya, and Kierre; great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Kingstyn, Kashtyn, and Dalalih; god-daughters, Tomeka Williams & Shaleeta Polk; special first cousin, Wanda Davis; and a host of other close relatives and friends.
A homegoing celebration for Myrtle Polk will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Two-Mile United Methodist Church, Leona, Texas. Interment will follow in Two-Mile Paradise Cemetery.
