Obituary for Dorothy May Lutteringer

Dorothy passed away peacefully with her family present on Monday, September 18, 2017, in College Station, TX. She was 85, born July. 18, 1932. Dorothy grew up in Fort Wayne, IN where she married her beloved John W. Lutteringer, Jr. They moved for a time to San Antonio, TX, before moving back to Fort Wayne. She and John subsequently moved to the Houston area and then both retired to Centerville, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Julia Connor(Roman), as well as sisters Jo Lee (Buhr), Ada, Bunny and brother Frank. She is survived by her children, John and his wife Mickey Pollard, and Paul and his partner Tonya Kinney, as well as her cherished grandchildren Nicole Sutton and her husband Randy, their son Lucas, Kristen Lutteringer, JW Lutteringer and his partner Josie Halozan, and PJ Lutteringer and his partner Sierra Reinhard and son Apollo.

Dorothy was as a wife, mother, role model, home maker, family communicator, organizer, great cook, volunteer, confidant and a friend to many. As a person she was an extravert without a “me” personality who was honest, kind, thoughtful, compassionate, giving along with a sharp wit. With her personality, she quickly connected and made friends with anybody she met. Being an extrovert, she was always reaching out to family and friends providing a caring presence and conduit, sharing information about what was happening in other people’s lives that was relevant.

As a mother, she instilled her virtues to her children: honesty, kindness, compassion, thoughtfulness and a work ethic that has greatly helped them achieve success as adults. She was loving and caring mother who was always involved and there for her children from the day they were born till the day that she left this world.

As a wife, she was partner, confidant and the love of her husband’s life. She was the rock who is equally responsible for the success he achieved both in life and business.

She will be greatly missed by all whose life she touched.

At her request, there will be no funeral or burial service. A memories reception will be held to visit with family and friends at a future time and place. If you would like to attend the reception, please contact John W. Lutteringer III at:
