Ollie Merle Humphrey, née Hart, was born on April 17, 1934, in Houston, Texas, and passed peacefully into her loving Savior’s arms on September 11, 2026, in Centerville, Texas, surrounded by those she held dear. Her life was marked by steadfast faith, loving service, and a generous heart that made room for all who entered her world.

Ollie was a dedicated wife and devoted homemaker to her family throughout her life. When her husband was ordained, she wholeheartedly embraced the calling of a minister’s wife, welcoming the many responsibilities that came with that role with grace and open arms. She was an excellent seamstress, and in every part of her life she brought care, skill, and warmth to those around her.

She was, in the truest sense, a mother to anyone who needed a motherly figure. Ollie was deeply loved, and her kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. For more than twenty years, she served as a conference leader for Serendipity Ladies Ministry, a role that reflected both her devotion and her gift for encouraging others. She found joy and peace in mentoring and ministering to teens, teaching them the word of Jesus with patience and sincerity. Ollie was the epitome of a servant of the Lord. She had a gift for hospitality and genuinely enjoyed opening her home to others. Deeply knowledgeable in matters of faith, she studied the Bible daily and lived as an example of the Virtuous Woman in Proverbs.

Her family was the great treasure of her life. She is survived by her by her sister, Mary Cecilia Underwood of Houston; daughters, Patricia Grable (Jim) of Shepherd, Janice Williams (Ronald) of Centerville, and Elizabeth Lee (Jay Taylor) of Centerville; and her grandchildren, Vanessa DeVille of Colorado, Stephen Williams (Jennifer) of Centerville, Shane Williams (Amanda) of College Station, Alesha Mast (Austin) of Centerville, Leah Bell (Brad) of Centerville, Chase Lee (Brittany) of Centerville, David Humphrey (Sarah) of Paris, Jeremy Humphrey of Paris, and Jacob Humphrey of Montgomery, as well as twenty great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.  Ollie is also survived by a host of friends from the many places where "God planted her to grow."

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. "Burrel" Humphrey; parents, Marvin and Velma (Dodson) Hart; her sisters, Noma McClain, Lillian “Sissy” Moore, and Margie Hart; her brothers, Sonny Hart, Lewis Hart, and David Hart; her son, Loyd Ray Humphrey; and her grandson, Joshua Chance Lee. Their memories remained part of the story she carried in her heart throughout her life.

A funeral service honoring Ollie Humphrey will be held 10 A.M., Friday, September 18, 2026, at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Ollie's son-in-law, Bro. Jim Grable will officiate the service. Burial will follow in L.B. Humphrey Family Cemetery. A time of visitation and fellowship will take place Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., also at the funeral home.
