Paulette Young, passed away peacefully at her home on January 5, 2026, at the age of 80 years. Born on September 19, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama, she was the daughter of Cecil Leroy and Hilda Maude (Stacey) Smith. Paulette's journey through life led her to Centerville, Texas, where she resided for the past thirty-nine years after moving from Houston.

Paulette was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family and her work. Alongside her late husband, Charlie, she owned and operated a successful pest control business for over thirty years, a testament to her hard work and entrepreneurial spirit. Following her husband's untimely passing, she often reflected on their shared life, expressing profound love and admiration for the years they spent together.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Paulette found joy in tending to her yard and flowers, with her favorite pastime being mowing the lawn. Until just days before her passing, she expressed a longing to be on her beloved lawnmower, showcasing her vibrant spirit and deep connection to her home.

Paulette will be remembered as a warm and welcoming person who enjoyed visiting with friends and family. Her engaging personality and genuine interest in others made her a treasured friend in the community. As a faithful member of River of Life Church, she drew strength and comfort from her faith, exemplifying the values of kindness and generosity throughout her life.

Paulette is survived by her beloved children, Darrell Hailey (Tina) of Conroe, Hymie Love Wagers of Centerville and Bryan Young (Wendy) of Elkhart; grandchildren, Haley Young, Ethan Young, Abigail Young, JaNyra Young, Mykala Follmar, Cole Follmar, Jessica Norwood (Blakely), Joshua Hailey (Myca) and Cory Hailey; great-grandchildren, Jaden and Parker Norwood and Avery, Brantly Levi and Rylie Hailey; sister, Aline Phipps of Houston; special niece, Paula Rodriguez (Gilbert) of Houston; and numerous extended family & friends who will carry on her legacy of love and compassion.

A funeral service will be held on January 9, 2026, at 10 AM at River of Life Church. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Paulette's life and share memories of her warmth and spirit. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service at 9 A.M.  As we reflect on the life of Paulette Young, we remember a devoted mother, a loving wife, and a cherished friend. Her warmth and spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Paulette was preceded in death by both of her parents; beloved husband, Charles "Charlie" Young; son, Earl Wayne Hailey Jr. and grandson, Earl Wayne Hailey III.
