Peggy Jean (Akins) Stacy, 77, of Buffalo, Texas passed away on May 2, 2023. She was born on June 23, 1945 to Joseph Eugene Akins and Oleta Jewel (Dike) Akins in Pasadena, Texas. Peggy was a devoted Christian minister. She shared God's word in prisons and other churches in Texas. She had a green thumb and could make anything grow, and her garden was always extravagant. Peggy loved being a grandmother to her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Peggy was preceded in death by both of her parents. She is survived by her husband, Oscar Stacy of Buffalo, Texas; son, Larry Don Tillis of Centerville, Texas; daughters, Sharon Steinbecker (Gary) of Buffalo, Texas and Rhonda Hlanak of Baytown, Texas; brother, Larry Akins of Anahuac, Texas; sister, Sandy Sanders of Liberty, Texas; grandchildren, Maygen, Macy, Sharonda, Lacey and Michael; and great-grandchildren, Erica, Uriah, Jaylyn, Kaleb, Landon, Wirney.

A funeral service for Peggy will take place at 2 P.M., Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Bro. Larry Akins will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Centerville, Texas.
