IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rubin
Jones
April 12, 1931 – February 6, 2026
Rubin Jones, a beloved son of Amos and Willie B. (Hopkins) Jones, was born on April 12, 1931. He gracefully entered eternal rest on February 6, 2026, in Madisonville, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unyielding devotion to family. His departure from this world was peaceful, a final testament to the quiet strength that characterized both his life and spirit.
Throughout his years, Rubin embodied a vibrant essence, an outgoing personality that won the hearts of all who knew him. A lover of music and fervent devotee of the Dallas Cowboys, Rubin’s passions were as diverse as they were heartfelt. Each note he cherished and every game he watched became moments of joy that he shared with others, creating an infectious spirit of camaraderie surrounding him.
Despite being stricken with Polio at an early age, which rendered him unable to walk, Rubin demonstrated an extraordinary capability that surpassed physical limitations. He constructed a playhouse for his cherished nieces and nephews, a labor of love accomplished solely from his knees. His ingenuity brought to life several windmills, standing as symbols of his creativity and determination. Each structure he erected carried the essence of his spirit—resourceful, devoted, and unfalteringly present.
Education came not from the halls of traditional academics, as Rubin never attended school, but through the enlightening teachings of his very special niece, Pearlie Tryon, affectionately known as "Jo." With boundless patience and love, she would come home from her own lessons and transform their shared space into a classroom, where Rubin absorbed knowledge through each chalkboard session. Their bond was profound, an enduring testament to the power of love and mentorship.
Rubin’s spirit was further manifested through the warmth he exuded towards his family. He was entrusted with the care of Pearlie during her youth, often wheeling her around in a wagon—his gentle heart always desiring to uplift those he adored. His unwavering support and deep affection for his family endeared him to thirteen nieces and nephews, along with a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, who shall carry on the flame of his legacy.
In mourning his departure, we remember Rubin not only for his dedication and accomplishments but also for the gentle light he shone upon those who were fortunate to know him. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his beloved siblings: Walter, Jolden, and Joseph Jones, as well as Dorothy Johnson and Pearlene Polk. He also left behind five nephews and one niece, as well as special niece, Pearlie "Jo" whose absence now echoes deeply in the hearts of all who loved him.
A homegoing service honoring Rubin's life will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Burial will follow in Two Mile Paradise Cemetery, Leona, Texas. A brief visitation will be held from 10 A.M. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Rubin Jones leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories stitched together by laughter, love, and an indomitable spirit that will forever inspire those who tread the path he once walked. In our hearts, his legacy shall remain alive, reminding us all of the incredible power of love and tenacity.
