Shirley Jean (McRee) Davis passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at the age of 84.
Born on September 21, 1940, to Margaret Jorene Winn and Loys Dixon McRee, Shirley grew up with a deep love of learning, music, and family. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her brother, Julius "Toddy" McRee.
Shirley dedicated her career to education and literacy, working many years as a librarian before retiring from the San Jacinto College Library. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star and filled her days with things that brought her joy: reading, music, dancing, art, and sharing meals with family and friends. Her kind spirit and joyful laugh left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Shirley is survived by her three sons, Rocky Davis, Rex Davis and his wife, Tina, and Randy Davis and his wife, Trina. She is also survived by her brothers, Jerry McRee and Clint McRee; her sister, Laura Jo Lynch; and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were truly her pride and joy and lovingly called her "GG."
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
