Tami Lynn Fowler, a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, in Oakwood, Texas. Born on November 23, 1964, in Houston, Texas, Tami lived a life rich with kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Throughout her life, Tami was a vibrant presence who never met a stranger—everyone she encountered eventually became her friend. This innate gift of connection carried through every aspect of her life. She was known for her infectious smile and gentle spirit, welcoming all with open arms.
Tami’s career was a testament to her work ethic and her warm nature. She devoted many years as a waitress at both the Town Cafe and Pioneer Market, where her friendly demeanor endeared her to countless customers. During the time her children were young, she embraced the roles of school bus driver and substitute teacher, roles in which she left lasting impressions on the children she watched over with care and affection.
Beyond her professional life, Tami was an exceptionally gifted craftswoman. Her home brimmed with the handiwork of her loving hands—knitted items, lovingly sewn garments, delicate crocheted pieces, and intricate needlepoint designs. These crafts were more than hobbies; they were a reflection of her creativity, patience, and the love she poured into everything she did.
Tami is survived by her devoted husband, Scott Fowler, who stood by her side through life’s joys and challenges. Her daughters, Ashli Dobbs (Chance), Jacki Honings, and Keeli Honings, carry forward her legacy of strength and kindness. She also leaves behind her cherished step-daughters, Wendy Jenkins (Chris) and Heather Fowler, who were a special part of her extended family. Her brother, Timothy “Tim” Sexton (Andrea), remains a steadfast presence in her life’s story. Tami’s heart was most full when surrounded by her grandchildren—Brook-Lynn Boyd, Shayla Dobbs, Aubrey Brent, Connor Dobbs, Wyatt Matthews, and Duncan Dobbs—each a precious reminder of the love and joy she brought into the world. Many extended family members and dear friends, too numerous to name, felt the warmth of her generous spirit and mourn her passing.
Tami’s journey was marked by both love and loss. She was preceded in death by her parents, Timothy Harold and Virginia Sue (Riley) Sexton, whose memories she cherished deeply. She also mourned the loss of her step-daughter, Stephanie Fowler, who forever holds a place in her heart.
As we remember Tami Lynn Fowler, we celebrate a life that touched so many with its gentleness and strength. Her legacy is one of friendship, compassion, and unwavering devotion—qualities that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us in body, the warmth of her love and the beauty of her spirit remain eternal.
Rest peacefully, dear Tami, knowing you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Your friendship, your laughter, and your handmade treasures will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know you.
A memorial service to honor Tami's life is planned for a later time.
Final arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
