Terrie Lynn Swiger was born on October 9, 1961 in Houston, Texas to William H. Steil & Carolyn Burroughs. She grew up in Houston and lived in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, for a brief time, where she worked as a computer consultant. Terrie was a wiz at the computer and knew everything there was to know about them. She was also a gifted writer of poetry and childrens books. Terrie had a heart for animals, especially her cat, Cleo, who was a constant companion to her. Terries interests included sewing, arts and crafts and listening to all kinds of music. Peter Frampton was her favorite artist. She had battled cancer for the past fourteen years, yet always kept her sense of humor. Even during her darkest and most painful days, Terries face would often light up, and her eyes would sparkle when she recognized something funny or beautiful. Terrie had lived in Centerville for the past twenty-two years and attended Chapel of the Hills Assembly of God Church. She passed away from her battle with cancer on the morning of August 31, 2016 in Bryan, Texas. Terrie was preceded in death by her father, William H. Steil; brother, Kenneth Craig Steil and her maternal & paternal grandparents.
Surviving family members include mother, Carolyn Griffin of Centerville; second mother, Cheryl Steil of Castlerock, Colorado; twin sister, Jobie Steil of Centerville; brother, Dean William Buffington of Denver, Colorado and cousins, Lisa Steil of Austin, Texas and Randy Steil of Kansas City, Kansas.
