Memorial services for Victor Pershing Head, III, age 70, of The Woodlands and formerly of Montgomery, will be held at 2 P.M., Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. A gathering of friends will take place from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. on Wednesday, March 29th at the funeral home.
Victor Pershing Head III, was born on September 2, 1946 in Houston, Texas to Victor Pershing, Jr. & Doral (Dine) Head. He graduated from Jeff Davis High in Houston, Texas. Victor then enlisted in the US Coast Guard. After fulfilling his Coast Guard duty, he worked in Houston at Greyhound/Film 'n Photo until the company was sold. Victor then worked as an independent truck driver for a brief period, and he worked for Halliburton in Iraq until he was severely injured resulting in his retirement.
Victor was an avid golfer and won several Jr. Golf tournaments in the Houston area. In his youth he was a very active person who loved to jog, work in the yard and stay active. He was a fan of the Texas Longhorns and followed their football program throughout his life. He was also an avid reader. After an accidental fall in his home in Houston, Victor was admitted to the Regent Care Facility in the Woodlands Texas for the last 2 years of his life. He passed away at Regent Care on January 17, 2017.
Victor was preceded in death by both of his parents and wife, Sandy Head. He is survived by children, Michelle Head, Kourtney Head Pulitzer and Brandon Head; grandchildren, Mac & Lucy Pulitzer; sisters, Debbie Head Zemenak and Cynthia Head Thompson; brother, James Head and mother-in-law, Irlin Sapp.
Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas is in charge of all arrangements.
