Funeral services honoring the life of Wade Combs, Sr., 78, of Leona, Texas will be held 1 P.M., Monday, December 27, 2021 at Leona United Methodist Church, Leona, Texas. Rev. John Burchell will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Leona Cemetery. A brief visitation will take place before the service from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.

Wade Thomas Combs, Sr. was born January 16, 1943 in Smyth County, Virginia. His parents were Raymond Thomas & Minnie Rosetta (Brown) Combs. Wade worked in various aspects of the construction industry and had lived the majority of his life in Maryland, Florida and in Texas for the past thirty years. Wade never believed in idol hands and always kept himself busy with various projects in his home and on his property. His generous and giving nature led him to often helping neighbors and acquaintances with their own projects and with Wade never expecting anything in return for his help. Wade was a member of Leona United Methodist Church, Leona, Texas. He passed away following an extended illness December 19, 2021 in Bryan, Texas.

Wade was preceded in death by both of his parents and a step-brother.

Surviving family members include wife, Wanda Combs of Centerville; son, Wade Combs, Jr. (Sandy) of Tennessee; daughters, Rose Barnes (Tommy) of Micco, FL, Christine Mallory (John) of Sabastian, FL and Kaitlyn Combs of Bryan; sisters, Rosalee Combs of Elkton, MD and Edra Davis of Northeast, MD; step-daughter, Donna Angers; grandchildren, Tina, Thomas, Chris, John B., Sonny, Cheyanne, John M., Aubrey and Eric; great-grandchildren, Cayde, Gavin, Nora, Taylynn, Camden, Tatum, Summer, Jackson and Henry and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Wade is also survived by caregiver, Patricia “Pat” Henderson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
