Yolanda Marie Richey passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 18, 2026, in Madisonville, Texas. She was born on November 18, 1980, in Tyler, Texas. She will be remembered with love by those who knew her and shared in her life.
Yolanda earned her associate’s degree from Tyler Junior College, an accomplishment that reflected her determination and commitment. In her younger years, she worked for Woody’s Smokehouse. She later served as a correctional officer for TDCJ before her health began to fail. Through her work, she gave her time and effort with quiet strength.
Outside of work, Yolanda found joy in coloring books, creating numerous pages of artwork that reflected her creativity and offered a glimpse into her gentle spirit. She was also an avid reader who could often be found with her nose in a book, happily escaping into worlds of fantasy and imagination. Through the stories she read, Yolanda found adventure, wonder, and the freedom to let her imagination carry her wherever the pages led.
She is survived by her mother, Judy Dryer (Willy); her brothers, Justin Hayes (Caitlyn) and Tyler Dryer (fiancée, Haylee Evans); and her aunts, Kathy Reynolds (David) and Freida Winchester. She also leaves behind five nieces and four nephews. May their memories of Yolanda bring comfort and peace in the days ahead.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, John D. Winchester, Rose Marie Rice, and Johnny Ray Rice; her uncle, Billy Winchester and her aunts, Connie Mize and Debra Moon. Their memories remained a lasting part of her family’s story.
A memorial service for Yolanda Marie Richey will be held 1 P.M., Monday, October 26, 2026, at LIFEChurch, Leona, Texas. Pastor Mark Gray will officiate the service.
Yolanda will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Her life, her work, and the quiet joys she cherished will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas -- A Walters Family Funeral Home.
